Stereo panner, explained.
Stereo panner places the sound at a fixed position between the left and right sides. It is useful for deliberately off-center playback or placing a sound to one side. The exported result has two channels.
Every parameter, explained
Position
-100% to 100% · Default -35%Position ranges from −100% to +100%. Negative values move left, positive values move right, and 0% is centered. At the ends the sound is placed fully to one side. Sonic uses the browser’s equal-power stereo panning behavior.
A good place to start
Try −35% for a gentle left position, or +35% for right. Use headphones to hear the placement clearly, and compare the same phrase with the centered version.
What to listen for
A mono speaker or mono playback setting will largely hide the positioning. Stereo sources are balanced and mixed by the panner rather than having their individual instruments separated. This is fixed placement, with no automatic motion.
Can I make it move between ears?
Use 8D audio, which continuously varies the pan position rather than holding a fixed setting.
