Every parameter, explained
Bit depth
4 bits to 16 bits · Default 8 bitsThe amplitude precision. Fewer bits produce stronger quantization grit. This is a sound effect, separate from WAV export bit depth.
Sample rate
1000 Hz to 48000 Hz · Default 10000 HzThe effective sample update rate. Lower values hold samples longer and intentionally add aliasing. The output file keeps its original sample rate.
Mix
0% to 100% · Default 70%How much crushed audio is blended with the original. Lower mixes retain more of the source detail.
A good place to start
Try the sample or upload a short recording. Apply the defaults, compare Original and Result, then adjust one parameter at a time. Revisions on this page start from your original recording.
What to listen for
This is a creative effect: aliasing and quantization are intentional. The export sample rate stays unchanged; this control changes the texture.
Compare a quiet passage and a busy passage at a comfortable listening volume. The player volume changes playback only; it does not change the downloaded audio.
Can I combine this with other effects?
Yes. Open the combination studio and choose this effect along with any others. Effects run in the displayed order, and completed stages are reused. Changing or removing an earlier effect rebuilds the affected stages.
Once processing finishes, compare the result and download MP3 or WAV. MP3 encoding runs locally and does not apply the effects again.
